Head of Finance

Applications are invited from suitable qualified persons for the vacant position of: Head of Finance Job Summary • The Head of Finance is responsible for safeguarding the bank’s financial resources, maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing financial reports, ensuring regulatory compliance in financial reporting and supporting strategic financial planning Roles • Ensure compliance with the provisions of the Banking Law, the companies Act 2019 (Act 992) as well as directives and procedures established by Bank of Ghana, ARB Apex Bank and the Policies of the Bank. • Advise and implement a reliable accounting system and corporate financial policies that provide adequate reporting of the bank’s financial position at all times • Initiate, co-ordinate and consolidate the bank’s budget and targets • Ensure effective monthly and periodic production of financial and management accounts and reports for internal, statutory and regulatory requirements in a quality and timely manner • Primary responsibility for implementing and maintaining internal financial controls assuring the completeness and accuracy of information contained in the Bank’s financial systems • Advice on the financial risk implications of resource allocation and other decisions and review the financial evaluation of proposed projects • Develop accounting/financial policies, operating standards and procedures and other support systems including monitoring mechanisms in managing the financial and management accounting functions • Manage and control the month management reporting process including explanation of variances and trends to management and board in a timely manner. • Management/supervise the preparation and submission of the Bank’s statutory reports and returns to Apex Bank, BoG, GRA, External Auditors and SSNIT • Maintenance of the Bank’s General Ledger and the management of the Bank’s fixed assets • Manage the treasury functions of the Bank • Ensure compliance with Bank of Ghana regulations and guidelines Qualification Required & Experience • Professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA II, CIMA III, ICA II etc) • Master’s Degree in related field is an added advantage • University degree in Accounting/Banking Finance • At least 5 years working experience in a similar role • Highly analytical, critical and attentive to details • Proactive, innovative and dynamic problem solver • Professional with high personal integrity • Good interpersonal communication and reporting writing competencies • Must have knowledge in T24 Banking software • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel among others Location: Akim How To Apply For The Job Interested & Qualified candidates may submit their application, CVs and relevant certificates, as well as confidential reports from 2 referees addressed to the Human Resource Manager at: hr@sarbgh.com Closing Date: 14 September, 2026 The post Head of Finance at South Akim Community Bank PLC appeared first on Jobweb Ghana .
