Sr. Software Engineer / Full-Stack Developer - React, Python, .NET, Cloud & AI About the Role We're looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer / Full-Stack Developer to take ownership of several existing software products and help us continue building, modernizing, and scaling them. This is not primarily a greenfield development role. You'll work with established production applications, learn the existing architecture, improve and extend current systems, integrate APIs and AI-powered functionality where useful, and gradually take ownership of technical decisions. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to grow into a Lead Software Engineer / Technical Lead role as the team expands. What You'll Do First 1-3 Months - Learn existing applications, architecture, APIs, databases, and deployment workflows - Work with existing React/Next.js, TypeScript, Python, .NET, and cloud-based applications - Resolve production issues and technical debt - Develop new features within existing systems - Review current CI/CD and deployment processes - Document important architecture and development workflows Months 3-6 - Take ownership of multiple applications and services - Design and implement new full-stack features - Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend services - Integrate third-party APIs and external platforms - Improve application performance, reliability, and security - Maintain cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines - Introduce practical AI/LLM functionality where it provides business value - Participate in architecture and technology decisions Longer Term As you become familiar with the portfolio, you'll have the opportunity to move into a technical leadership role. Responsibilities may include: - Leading a small engineering team - Reviewing pull requests and architecture decisions - Breaking business requirements into technical tasks - Mentoring junior and mid-level developers - Improving engineering standards and development processes - Working directly with product and business stakeholders - Helping determine the technical roadmap Required Experience We're looking for someone with strong professional software engineering experience and hands-on production ownership. You should have experience with several of the following: - Full-Stack Development - React - Next.js - TypeScript / JavaScript - Python - C / .NET Core - Node.js - REST API development - SQL / PostgreSQL / SQL Server - AWS and/or Microsoft Azure - Docker - Git / GitHub - CI/CD pipelines - Cloud application deployment - Production debugging and troubleshooting You do not need to be equally strong in every technology listed above. More important is the ability to understand an existing system quickly, make sound engineering decisions, and take responsibility for getting software into production reliably. AI / Automation Experience Experience with modern AI technologies is a strong plus, including: - OpenAI APIs - Claude / Anthropic - Gemini - LLM integrations - RAG / vector search - AI agents - Workflow automation - AI-powered business applications We're particularly interested in developers who understand when AI is useful and when traditional software engineering is the better solution. Cloud / DevOps Experience Useful experience includes: - AWS - Azure - Docker - Terraform / Infrastructure as Code - GitHub Actions - CI/CD - Serverless architecture - Cloud databases - Kubernetes Deep DevOps specialization is not required, but you should be comfortable deploying and supporting applications in production environments. What We're Looking For The ideal person is a senior engineer who: - Has 10+ years of professional software development experience - Has worked across both front-end and back-end systems - Has inherited and maintained existing production applications - Can independently investigate unfamiliar codebases - Understands software architecture and system design - Communicates technical risks clearly - Takes ownership rather than waiting for detailed instructions - Is comfortable working directly with clients or business stakeholders - Can eventually mentor developers and provide technical leadership Experience working across healthcare, finance, SaaS, enterprise software, analytics, or AI applications is a plus. One example of an API integration, cloud application, or AI/LLM feature you've implemented. 4. Your experience with GitHub, CI/CD, releases, and production support. 5. Any experience mentoring developers or leading a technical team. 6. Your time zone and weekly availability. We're more interested in real engineering experience and technical ownership than a long generic proposal.
