Principal Officer, Finance

A reputable public institution invites applications from suitable qualified, experienced result-oriented persons for the following position: Principal Officer, Finance Job Purpose • To provide senior professional and supervisory support for the effective management of the institution’s accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and accounting standards Key Duties and Responsibilities • Provide technical input into formulation and review of financial policies, procedures and systems • Supervise implementation of approved financial management programmes and activities • Coordinate preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, management accounts and periodic financial reports • Supervise recording, classification and reconciliation of financial transactions in accordance with approved accounting policies and standards • Support management of receipts, payments and other financial transactions in accordance with approved procedures and controls • Ensure proper maintenance and safeguarding of accounting records and financial documentation • Monitor compliance with applicable public financial management laws, regulations, policies, accounting standards and internal controls • Provide technical input into development and review of the institution’s accounting manual and financial procedures • Provide financial analysis and technical input into institution proposals, programmes and management decisions • Coordinate implementation of approved audit recommendations relating to financial management • Support development and review of effective internal financial control systems • Provide relevant financial information to support institutional budgeting and budget-performance monitoring • Supervise preparation of annual work plans, budgets and periodic reports relating to assigned finance functions • Supervise and appraise subordinate staff • Perform other related duties assigned by the appropriate supervisor Qualification Required & Experience • A minimum of a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or any other related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution • Membership of a relevant and recognized professional body, where applicable • A minimum of 6 years post-bachelor’s relevant work experience in a reputable institution Location: Accra How To Apply For The Job Interested and qualified persons should submit: • Application letter • Detailed Curriculum vitae (CV) • Copies of relevant academic and professional Applications should be submitted via email to: elkanahephpha@gmail.com Applicants should state ‘Principal Officer, Finance’ as the subject of the email.
