Senior Officer, Finance

A reputable public institution invites applications from suitable qualified, experienced result-oriented persons for the following position: Senior Officer, Finance Job Purpose • To provide senior professional and supervisory support for the effective management f the institution’s accounting, financial reporting, financial control and related financial operations in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and accounting standards Key Duties and Responsibilities • Provide technical input into formulation and review of financial policies, procedures and systems • Supervise implementation of approved financial management programmes and activities • Coordinate preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, management accounts and periodic financial reports • Coordinate development, implementation and review of budgeting guidelines, procedures and systems • Monitor revenue and expenditure performance against approved budgets and provide timely analysis and advice through the Director, Finance • Support identification and analysis of funding requirements and financing gaps to inform institutional resource mobilization initiatives • Liaise with Directorates and relevant stakeholders on budget preparation, implementation, monitoring and reporting • Ensure budgeting activities comply with applicable public financial management laws, regulations and fiscal policies • Provide budgetary and financial input into institutional proposals, programmes and intitiatives • Coordinate implementation of relevant audit recommendations relating to budgeting and budgetary controls • Review quarterly, annual and other periodic budget performance reports and recommend corrective action • Coordinate preparation and implementation of the unit’s annual work plan and budget • Support implementation of the performance management system within the unit • Supervise and appraise subordinate staff • Perform other related duties assigned by the Director, Finance Qualification Required & Experience • A minimum of a master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or any other related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution • Membership of a relevant and recognized professional body, where applicable • A minimum of 8 years post-bachelor’s relevant work experience, 4 years of which must be in a Senior Management position in a reputable institution • Must pass a selection interview conducted by the institution in collaboration with the Public Services Commission Location: Accra How To Apply For The Job Interested and qualified persons should submit: • Application letter • Detailed Curriculum vitae (CV) • Copies of relevant academic and professional Applications should be submitted via email to: elkanahephpha@gmail.com Applicants should state ‘Senior Officer, Finance’ as the subject of the email.
